Five journalists were killed in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours. They were part of the 23 Palestinians killed by Israeli strikes in a single day.
The five journalists are Saad Madooh, Adeeb Sukkar, Amjad Al Jahjouh, Wafa Abu Dhubaan and Rizeq Abu Shikyan.
The last to be killed was Abu Shikyan from Nusseirat camp in central Gaza. He was killed by an Israeli airstrike on the camp.
At the same time Amjad Jahjouh and his wife Wafa Abu Dhubaan were killed with their child and seven others in another Israeli strike on Nusseirat.
Mohammad Al Sakani was also reported to have been killed in the last 24 hours. He was a young journalist from Al Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza city.
The Government Media Office in Gaza the latest killings mean the number of journalists assassinated by the Israeli occupation army jumps to 158 since 7 October, 2023.
